“Schizophremic” typo in the DX01 Joker

December 14, 2009 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

The Collectors Review has published the first of their photographs of Hot Toy’s rather stunning Joker model. The detail is impressive; 35 points of articulation, unique designed eyeballs with colored Translucent Iris, simultaneous positionable eyeball function and two whole suits. Looks like there might be a typo in the tribute to Heath Ledger, though. Rather […]

Hobbit casting begins – who would you select?

December 9, 2009 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Fan favourite Peter Jackson has begun the casting drama for the forthcoming Hobbit film. Let’s give Ian McKellen the role of Gandalf (could anyone take it from him?). Who would you put in the other roles? We’ve Bilbo to fill and a total of 13 dwarves! That’s a lot. Rumours claimed that James McAvoy was […]

Lego in Matrix time

November 28, 2009 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Lego is awesome. The Matrix is awesome. What you get when you put the two together you get… awesome. Yeah. This is very clever set of animation that makes full use of all that awesome in order to re-create one of the best scenes in the movie. Dodge this.

Star Trek and A-Team mashup

November 28, 2009 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

I think this Star Trek and A-Team mashup is particularly clever because it’s such a good fit. There’s an A-Team movie coming and, I suspect, we’ll see more of the re-genned Star Trek and so this YouTube hit should have legs long enough for 2010.

Season of the Witch trailer

November 22, 2009 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Lionsgate Films is teasing us with the latest Season of the Witch trailer. Let’s hope it makes Nicolas cage some money. Let’s hope the amazing Ron Pearlman gets lots of screen time! What we have here is a bunch of 14th century Crusaders asked to transport The Girl to a far-off abbey where the monks […]

Viggo Mortensen in The Road

November 22, 2009 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Cormac McCarthy‘s Pulitzer Prize winning novel has been adapted into a movie staring Viggo Mortensen. Yes; him from Lord of the Rings. I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels as if Mortensen has been struggling to follow on from the LotR mash hit and I wonder whether he has found it here in […]

Where the Wild Things Are Christmas presents

November 21, 2009 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

I don’t know about you – but I always struggle to get presents for people. My one rule is only to buy stuff I’d like to have myself. This year I’ve been a little more organised in that I’ve made internet purchases ahead of time (shipping from America to the United Kingdom is still possible) […]

Will Matt Smith’s Womb be out before the new Doctor Who?

November 19, 2009 by Andrew Girdwood 1 Comment

Steven Moffat‘s brave choice as the 11th Doctor, 27 year old Matt Smith, will feature alongside Eva Green in Benedek Fliegauf‘s movie Womb. Smith plays Thomas – alongside Eva’s Rebecca – in a near future movie which the two childhood sweethearts reconnect and begin a passionate love affair. The world comes crashing down when Thomas […]

Tim Burton at The Museum of Modern Art

November 18, 2009 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This is too cool for words; film master Tim Burton is being featured in the Museum of Modern Art (the New York one) all the way from November 22, 2009 to April 26, 2010. That’s pretty cool news in itself but check out this little 30 second video they’ve got to publicise the date. Fantastic. […]

November 16, 2009 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Want to see the end of the world? Lots of Americans do! The disaster movie 2012 has had an amazing first weekend; taking in some $65,000,000 in the US and $160,000,000 in total everywhere else. The cost of producing the CGI blockbuster? A cool $200m. They’ve already made their money back. Let’s hope it goes […]
