Robert Chew’s mech animal illustrations

June 11, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood 2 Comments

These illustrations come with notes just as if they’re from an RPG sourcebook. What a fantastic idea too; animal-style robots/mech. The designer is a digital artist called Robert Chew who works from Santa Monica, California. It’s also worth noting that profit from the sale of these prints is donated to The International Anti-Poaching Foundation and […]

June 11, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

One look at this novelty bowl based on Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and I knew it was ideal for evil GMs. As an Evil GM you are responsible for being host and for setting the mood. This can be a conflict. You want to be a good host but you might want […]

Wizards appoint Trapdoor to create digital tools for D&D

June 11, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood 6 Comments

Dungeons and Dragons 4 pushed into digital. You know, I might still have a subscription to the package but I’ve not used it in years and it was four years ago Geek Native discussed the merits of moving to Silverlight. It’s been tough for Wizards of the Coast. Damned if they do – not what […]

Destiny is Bungie’s new game. Having stepped away from creating Halo they’ve gone on to create a world in which the Traveller has been caught by the Darkness. Hayao Miyazaki helmed music video

June 10, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

http://vimeo.com/48043470 The great Hayao Miyazaki apparently needed a break while working on Princess Mononoke in 1995 after hitting a writer’s block. The solution? Work on a music video for Chage and Aska’s “On Your Mark”. The result is a 7-minute long musical adventure in typical emotional Miyazaki flare. Via io9.

E3: LittleBigPlanet 3 trailer

June 10, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

LittleBigPlanet has always managed to earn coverage here on Geek Native. That’s not usual for a platform game but, of course, LittleBigPlanet isn’t a usual platform game. What’s remarkable about LittleBigPlanet is the way it lets you create playable game worlds and that’s very much something that interests geek natives. The game will be out […]

E3: Bloodborne trailer

June 10, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This is a Sony published exclusive for the PlayStation 4 and it oozes roleplayer appeal. And gore, lots of gore. Bloodborne, once called Project Beast by Sony, will be directed by Hidetaki Miyazaki. It may well remind you of Demon’s Souls with its gothic streets and monstrous terrors. It has been created by the same […]
