A dancing robot, maNga and Eurovision

Eurovision has just finished here in Europe. If you’re unaware of the event, then let’s just say it’s a cross between the World Cup and some music talent show.

What’s this got to do with Geek Native?

Well…. to my surprise, the entry from Turkey is from a band called Manga. The band is called maNga; I guess the capital letters are important, and the band is supposed to be something of a supergroup in Eastern Europe.

Furthermore, rather than backing dancers, the group uses a rather interesting robot dancer.

In the end, they came in second place with an impressive 170 points. Soundly beaten by Germany with 246 points, but a good score never the less. This video is from the semi-finals. In the finals, the robot dancer gets out a grinder… anyway, check it out.
