As reported last month, Rock Manor Games has brought their Maximum Apocalypse game to Kickstarter. It’s already a popular board game and is now on its way to becoming a tabletop RPG.
Mike Gnade and team are asking for $10,000 for the project and, at the time of writing, have $11,500 pledged with 21 days still to go. You can follow the progress on Kickstarter.
Maximum Apocalypse is a setting in which more than one apocalypse available to you. Talk about careless. As a result, characters have to find enough food to survive while handling alien invasions, stalking zombies, robots, mutants and, well, you get the picture.
Survival is not guaranteed.
There is a free to download Maximum Apocalypse Quickstart available at DriveThruRPG.
Rock Manor has made some styling decisions for the game. You’re not getting a glossy hardback. The company is sticking with the game’s establish artwork, all the books will be printed in the graphic novel softcover format (that’s 7″ x 10″) and in full colour.
Also sticking with a familiar model for RPGs, there will be three books; the core rules, a GM’s book and a monster manual.
US$10 will get you the core rules in PDF, and $20 gets you that and the softcover, plus shipping.
US$30 gets you all three books in PDF but – and I think this must be an error – $36 gets you the core rules and monster manual in softcover and PDF. A more realistic price is $58, which gets you all three in PDF and softcover along with a quick reference screen.
Stretch goals come with most reward levels.
