Threefold is Green Ronin’s multiverse setting for their Modern AGE RPG system. While Modern AGE powers some impressive games, Threefold is Green Ronin’s own IP and flagship setting for it.
The original plan was for Five and Infinity to be an adventure book and part of the ongoing support for the setting.
Then the lockdown happened, and distributors closed shop. You can read about how seriously that is impacting Green Ronin here.
So, plans change. Green Ronin has moved to digital-first distribution, and Five and Infinity has become a series.
The Threefold Story Generator is part 0 of that bundle, and it’ll cost $1. The download contains tables and mechanics that allow you to roll up an outline of adventures suitable for Threefold. Many of the permutations produce adventure structures suitable for other Modern AGE campaign settings too.
The other parts are the Five and Infinity adventures split down by level. As a result, it’s cheaper to get started with Five and Infinity as you can buy the first part before deciding whether you need the second. I imagine it produces a more comfortable to handle PDF as well, with less scrolling.
Part 1 and 2 are Five and Infinity adventures suitable for characters at level 1 through to level 4. There are downloads for levels 5-8, 9-12 and then 13-16. And, at the risk of spoilers, we’re talking about alien spiders, psychic terrorists, infiltrating Hell and, apparently, the destruction of Earth.
