No Fuss Reviews has the results of over 500,000 responces to a gaming poll that suggests that the Xbox is far more likely to break than the Wii and the PlayStation 3.
There is a catch, though. The survey is de-duplicated but it takes no account of marketshare. If more Xbox users responded to the survey then there will be more gamers who’ve had to had their Xbox fixed.
On the question; “Has your [console] needed to be repaired or replaced due to fault?”
Xbox 360: 42%
PS3: 8%
Wii: Less than 1%
They repeated the question by increasing the number of repairs the console had been subjected too. When we get up to more than two repairs the results looked like;
Xbox 360: 39%
PS3: 8%
Wii: 0%
That means 8% of PS3 users who’ve had to had their PS3 repaired or replaced had to do it more than twice.
