Gaslit London is the setting for this 5th edition D&D variant called 5th Evolution: Whitechapel. Player characters are vigilantes trying to track down Jack the Ripper and events in the sandbox game are mapped to the official, historical, timeline.
The game is being kickstarted by Limitless Adventures who are seeking $10,000 to fund it. At the time of writing, there are two weeks still to go, and there’s over $5,000 pledged. That important halfway to funding mark has been crossed before the halfway to ending point as reached. If you’re interested, you can pledge at the campaign page.
A pledge of $10 is enough for the PDF version of the game, $20 gets you the PDF, a comic PDF and a softcover copy of Whitechapel but that tier is limited in number and selling out.
5th Evolution (aka 5Evo) takes 5th edition fantasy-minded mechanics and applies them to new genres. Typically, 5Evo titles are transmedia and have a comic book made in association with the RPG. That’s true for Whitechapel.
The game comes with an 8-page comic (pledge tier depending), as well as a detailed Whitechapel map, Gaslight 5e character sheets, character archetypes, 24 Victorian encounters and 10 Whitechapel locations. It’s not a big game, at 50 pages.
