Looking for a roleplaying Kickstarter that’s different but has a chance of success? Try Against the Dark Yogi: Mythic India Roleplaying from Tab Creations. They’ve asked for $4,000 and with 22 days still on the clock have raised $4,500 and counting.
As the name implies this is an RPG drawn on Indian myths and fantasy. This is a rich culture that seems under represented among RPGs, although titles like Arrows of Indra are out there.
The pledge levels are generous. For just $1 you’ll get access to the review copy of the game and at $10 you’ll get a PDF of the final game. $30 (earlybird tiers are sold out) will get yout the physical copy and the PDF… although you need to add $20 for shipping outside the States.
Tab Creations have done very well to get this funded. Their Facebook page dates back to 2009 and says the company was funded in 1992. While the page discusses several RPGs at the time this post goes they they only have 46 Likes. There’s only 5 followers on Twitter. This isn’t a huge company. However, it’s clear that this is a company with history, stamina and a knack for games.
Looks like 2014 will be a great year for them. What a good time to get involved with one of their projects too. Dharma all round.
