Scotland-based tabletop publisher Nightfall Games will release Species Guide 2: Stormer/Bio-Gen in early 2027. Later today at 18:00, the new supplement for SLA Industries 2nd Edition, detailing Karma, its creations, and the culture surrounding the corporation’s biogenetic monstrosities, will be officially announced. By returning to the core setting, this new book provides clear evidence that Nightfall is committed to supporting its proprietary SLA Industries 2nd Edition ruleset alongside the newly adapted Savage SLA line.
Project lead Dave Allsop, the original creator of SLA Industries, is helming the book to anchor it in the setting’s foundational world-building, including lore figures like Senti and Slayer. He is working alongside Nightfall Games CEO Mark Rapson to bring back classic elements of the 1990s setting.
The release brings back old favourites like the 714 Chagrin and the 536b Grit, alongside new additions such as the rebranded 909 Kill-O-Morph and a mysterious Formation Era hybrid known as the 354 Grunt. Mechanically, players will see the return of 4-armed Stormers and Gator Stormers, plus new weapons, equipment, pets, biogenetic enhancements, and Nuke Tendons for smaller characters. However, despite this wee Geek Native scoop, we’re not yet sure whether Nightfall will stick to its usual crowdfunding strategy or go straight to retail pre-orders, and digital distribution timelines remain unconfirmed.
