For the very first time, the original soundtrack to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is coming to vinyl. Bethesda Softworks has partnered with London-based Laced Records to press the 2006 RPG’s iconic score onto a special 2LP set.

The standard black edition will be available through various retailers. However, Laced Records is offering an exclusive “Oblivion Gate” variant, featuring blood-red and orange discs that channel the aesthetic of the game’s demonic portals. Bethesda Game Studios-created sleeve artwork highlights the Daedric rune of “Oht” alongside original concept pieces from the game’s development.
The release includes all 26 original tracks specially remastered for vinyl. It features the majestic orchestral themes and peaceful ambient compositions that accompanied players as they explored Cyrodiil over two decades ago. Fans will recognise tracks like “Reign of the Septims,” “Wings of Kynareth,” and “Glory of Cyrodiil.”
The official announcement notably omits any mention of the original composer, Jeremy Soule. Following serious allegations of sexual assault in 2019, Bethesda cut ties with Soule. He previously confirmed he is not involved in The Elder Scrolls VI. While his name is entirely scrubbed from this marketing push, his compositions remain the foundation of the release. Community speculation points heavily toward Bethesda veteran Inon Zur (Starfield, Fallout) taking the musical reins for the franchise’s highly anticipated next instalment.
While Laced Records says the vinyl is available to pre-order now, physical review copies aren’t expected until 2027. This suggests fans should prepare for a lengthy production timeline before these records actually ship.
