Scotland Loves Anime has revealed the full film line-up, screening dates, and times for its Edinburgh week at the Cameo Picturehouse. Running from Monday 16th November to Sunday 22nd November 2026, the Capital’s seven-day run serves as the finale for the festival’s UK dates, where the Jury Award (the Golden Partridge) and the Audience Award will be decided.

The announcement completes the geographical sequence across Scotland and England. While the official website still shows unrefreshed text for its southern dates, organisers confirmed on Facebook that Picturehouse Central in London will screen films over the middle weekend, 13th to 15th November 2026. That placement positions London between the opening Glasgow Film Theatre run (6th to 8th November) and the Edinburgh conclusion.

Edinburgh exclusives and guest highlights
While Glasgow secures the earliest premiere screenings, Edinburgh claims six selections absent from the GFT run:
- Shiranui: A 65-minute CoMix Wave Films project set in 1996 Kumamoto, screening on Friday 20th November with director Ryo Katanozaka attending in person.
- The Keeper of the Camphor Tree: Tomohiko Ito’s 114-minute feature produced by A-1 Pictures, adapting Keigo Higashino’s novel with music by Yugo Kanno.
- Chimney Town: Frozen in Time: Studio 4°C’s sequel directed by Yusuke Hirota, turning Sunday into a companion piece to Friday’s showing of Poupelle of Chimney Town.
- Midweek Retrospectives: The Monday to Thursday run screens AKIRA, A Silent Voice, Ninja Scroll (4K), and Your Name.
Navigating the Cameo weekend schedule
Geek Native is based in Edinburgh, and regular Scotland Loves Anime attendees know the operational reality of the weekend marathon. The Monday-to-Thursday evening slots leave ample breathing room, but the Friday-to-Sunday schedule is relentlessly compressed.
Screenings across Friday afternoon through Sunday night run back-to-back with minimal intervals between curtains:
- Friday 20th November: Four films run between 14:45 and past 22:30. The gap between Grotesqqque (104 mins, starting at 17:00) and Shiranui (19:15) leaves roughly thirty minutes, while Shiranui leads straight into Ghost at 21:00 with a guest Q&A in between.
- Saturday 21st November: Four films run from 13:45 to late evening. Samurai Ballerina (119 mins, starting at 16:15) concludes just before Cocoon starts at 18:50, leaving barely enough time to clear Screen 1.
- Sunday 22nd November: Another four-film gauntlet starting at 13:00 and finishing around 22:00 with The Obsessed.
For anyone attempting the full weekend pass, sitting down for a standard meal between screenings is practically out of the question. Anyone relying on sit-down restaurants along Home Street, Leven Street, or Tollcross will find thirty-minute intervals too tight once crowds filter out of the auditorium. Seasoned attendees generally rely on quick takeaway spots around Tollcross, the Cameo bar, or bringing snacks to avoid missing opening credits.
Tickets and weekend passes are on sale now through the Scotland Loves Animation website and respective cinema box offices.
