Possum Creek Games, the indie studio behind Wanderhome and Yazeba’s Bed & Breakfast, has partnered with Steve Jackson Games to release Seven-Part Pact. Designed by Jay Dragon with developmental editing from Avery Alder (Monsterhearts), the campaign funded instantly on Kickstarter. The crowdfunding drive surged past its original £75,106 goal within hours and currently sits at £432,365 pledged across 2,826 backers.

Set in the distant archipelago of Isha, Seven-Part Pact explores the immense power, political folly, and existential burdens of seven supreme wizards bound together by an ancient accord. Moving away from traditional party dynamics, players must balance their personal ambitions, heavy societal expectations, and fragile institutional systems.
Tabletop Mechanics and Scale
The core framework of Seven-Part Pact combines deep roleplaying game storytelling with asymmetrical board game structures. Designed for 3 to 7 players, every wizard operates under a unique A5 Codex detailing their mechanical rules, alongside a dedicated Domain board that models their distinct perspective on the world.
For example, the Necromancer guards the Gates of Death to keep ancient evils contained, the Warlock manages the Court of the King to preserve fragile political peace, and the Sorcerer runs an industrial production line in the University to brew alchemical reagents. Time advances on a monthly cycle controlled by the Orrery, a circular stellar map that dictates geopolitical shifts. Each month, players schedule four weeks of time to manage their Domains, interact with companions, and cast spells from a shared 200-page Grimoire using custom dice engraved with alchemical glyphs.
Each wizard faces a choice: will they maintain the systems that imprison them, or rebel against the Pact and destroy the fragile balance of the game?
When a player is not actively leading a scene, they participate as part of the Celestial Audience, a collective game-mastering mechanic where the rest of the table voices common folk, wild animals, or invading demons. The physical scope of the boxed set reflects this complex mechanical machine, weighing approximately 6 kg (14 lbs) and featuring an A4 rulebook, the Grimoire, seven A5 Codices, seven Domain boards, the Orrery, 21 custom glyph dice, multiple card decks, and punch-out tokens.

Reward Tiers
The campaign provides both digital and physical options across several backing levels.
