Mammoth Factory has returned to the UK Games Expo, and they have brought more than just the high-quality miniatures that built their reputation. Speaking to Geek Native on the show floor at Stand 3A-129, the team provided an exclusive first look at their upcoming hero product: Fateless.

Fateless is a sprawling, dark fairytale expansion designed for 5e and 5.5e roleplaying games. Marking a significant diversification into heavy-hitting RPG campaign content for the studio, the upcoming Kickstarter project promises a twisted, Brothers Grimm-inspired take on classic folklore. The sheer scale of the project is staggering, boasting over 500 pages of content split across two hardcover books and supported by a massive catalogue of over 280 legendary STL and physical miniatures.
The lore on display at the booth immediately highlights just how far Mammoth Factory is willing to push these classic tropes. During our hands-on preview, Geek Native uncovered a deeply unsettling variant of the Pinocchio tale. Rather than a charming wooden boy, the Fateless interpretation reimagines Pinocchio as a towering, terrifying wood golem. Even darker is his lore: the creature is held captive by tormentors who continuously taunt him into lying. As his magical wooden nose grows, it is brutally harvested as an endless supply of enchanted timber for building magical ships.
It is exactly this brand of grim, subversive world-building that sets Fateless apart from standard fantasy fare.
The World of Evermere
The expansion is divided into two primary tomes: the Storyteller’s Guide and Fables & Foes. The setting of Evermere features six feuding fairytale-themed kingdoms under threat from seven powerful Archwitches- mega-villains who are attempting to unravel the threads of fate to secure their own twisted “happily ever afters.”
Players will have an expansive toolkit to weave their own tragic stories, including:
- New Mechanics: Exploding ‘Fate Dice’ and ‘Death Coins’ that tie a character’s survival to the literal flip of a coin.
- Wondrous Races: Over 30 new races and cursed lineages, including the verdant Treeborn and the cursed animal Wakelyn.
- Storybook Subclasses: 12 thematic subclasses such as the Confectionist Artificer (who bakes gingerbread minions), the Prophecy Sorcerer, and the Root Warden Ranger.
- A Massive Bestiary: Over 130 twisted fairytale monsters, from the undying Snow Blight to eldritch variations of the Tooth Fairy.
Live from the Show Floor

For attendees at the UK Games Expo, Mammoth Factory is offering pre-Kickstarter quality demo booklets via a QR code at their stand, providing an immediate glimpse into the grim darkness of Evermere.
The physical resin miniatures on display alongside the promotional material are deeply impressive. True to the studio’s reputation for premium, human-made art, the sculpts, ranging from grotesque, feral beasts to intricate, wizened rat-mages, capture the melancholic and menacing tone of the book perfectly.
While the official launch date and final pricing tiers are yet to be announced, the sheer volume of content (11 adventures, 50+ enchanted artefacts, and a unique tarot-style ‘Deck of Many Archetypes’ system) suggests Fateless will be a massive undertaking.
