Infinite Black, the creative studio known for producing premium accessories and tactile props for roleplaying games, has announced the pre-launch of a new survival-driven Kickstarter campaign titled DOOMSDAY. Grounded heavily in the Lovecraftian lore of 1929 Innsmouth, Massachusetts, the project marks a critical turning point for the company following a deeply turbulent financial period that nearly closed its doors.

The campaign represents a structural pivot for the publisher, moving away from mass-produced accessories towards a highly focused, short-run collection of handmade Cthulhu Mythos artefacts. Chief amongst the new offerings is The Wren Evidence File, an immersive, tactile investigation into the infamous Marsh family and the dark history of the coastal town.
However, DOOMSDAY operates with a distinct dual purpose. Alongside the newly crafted material, the campaign opens the Infinite Black vault to offer rare ‘Doom Edition’ items from past production runs. While leveraging a crowdfunding platform to move existing warehouse stock arguably stretches the traditional funding ethos of Kickstarter, the inclusion of freshly created, lore-heavy props like the evidence file safely qualifies the project as a genuine creative endeavour.
Addressing the company’s recent struggles and the shift in focus, David, Owner and Artist at Infinite Black, said in a statement:
We are a small, persistent, deeply creative company that believes physical things matter. Strange things. Beautiful things. Things made with care. Things that feel like they came from another world, another century, or some locked drawer that should have stayed shut.”

The tactical shift highlights a broader trend within the independent tabletop space, where creators are increasingly forced to balance artistic ambition with pragmatic cash-flow solutions. By framing their surviving vault reserves as part of a curated mystery event alongside authentic new artefacts, Infinite Black is attempting to turn institutional survival into a compelling narrative for its backers.
For fans of physical tabletop immersion, it is an opportunity to secure items that might otherwise have been lost to the company’s recent restructuring. Pricing structures, international shipping estimates, and a concrete launch date remain undisclosed at this pre-launch stage.
