Renegade Game Studios has launched a massive dual-game campaign on BackerKit for the official Dungeon Crawler Carl roleplaying game and a companion deck-builder titled Unstoppable. Based on Matt Dinniman’s best-selling litRPG series, the project has already mobilised more than 20,400 backers, crossing major funding milestones within hours of its debut.
The campaign offers two distinct ways to experience the televised nightmare of the World Dungeon. The first is a skill-based tabletop roleplaying game that focuses on character customisation and the brutal mechanics of the crawl. The second, Unstoppable, is a card-crafting deck-builder designed for solo or co-operative play. With the litRPG genre seeing a significant surge in tabletop adaptations throughout early 2026, Renegade’s partnership with Dinniman represents one of the most anticipated transitions from page to polyhedrals this year.
World Dungeon Mechanics and Character Growth
The roleplaying game features a 300-page core rulebook that specifically covers floors three to five of the dungeon. In a nod to the source material’s progression, players do not pick their race or class immediately. Instead, they must survive the tutorial floors using a variety of backgrounds and basic stats before unlocking advanced customisation on the third floor.
The system is designed to be highly granular, offering over 30 playable races and a massive roster of subclasses. Beyond the pre-built options, the rules include guides for players to create their own classes and skills, mirroring the “System AI” logic found in the books. To help Game Masters manage the chaos, Renegade is also producing a GM screen that includes reference tables for HUD mini-map keys, loot generation on the fly, and combat modifiers.
Nothing is too good for Maestro’s piglets! Suck it! Suck it good, piglets!”
Tactical Combat and Accessories
For those who prefer a visual representation of their carnage, the campaign introduces three distinct boxes of pre-painted miniatures. These include The Royal Court, Enemies & Allies, and Mobs of Mordecai. The figures are sculpted to represent iconic moments, such as Carl in his explosives “expert” gear and Princess Donut riding Mongo.
The mechanical heart of the roleplaying game involves what the System AI refers to as “polyhedral shapes for throwing.” Renegade has developed several themed sets, including the Princess Donut Sepsis Crown dice, which are constructed from purple resin with glitter.
The Unstoppable Deck-Builder
While the roleplaying game handles long-term campaigns, Unstoppable offers a faster, card-based alternative. It utilises a card-crafting mechanic where players build their decks to survive an onslaught of horrors. It is designed to be played alone or with friends, focusing on the frantic energy of the early dungeon floors.
Surviving is winning, Louis. Everything else is bullshit.”

Reward Tiers and Loot Boxes
The campaign is structured around “Loot Boxes” that bundle physical and digital content. For those looking for the full experience, the higher-end tiers provide the most value, particularly the Celestial and Legendary boxes, which include all three miniature sets and the Season 1 pass. The Season Pass is a significant addition, promising six digital content drops between November 2026 and October 2027, featuring new neighbourhoods, bosses, and pre-generated versions of fan-favourite crawlers.
