Hit Point Press has officially launched its Kickstarter campaign for Big Bads: Most Wanted, a 5e-compatible bestiary that flips the traditional tabletop script by allowing players to embrace their “villain era”. The project, which debuted as part of Kickstarter’s Zine Quest, expands on the original Big Bads with a focus on organised, high-stakes villainy.
Correction: 25th Feb – The original article made several howling errors (wrong artists, wrong contents, wrong quote!). I apologise for the error and have updated the hall of shame.
The standard cover art, illustrated by long-time collaborator Josiah Cameron, depicts a scene of “mayhem and shenanigans” as the book’s antagonists, including Yku, Jamilah, Emmeline, Alkinimic Rex, and Ashrat, ransack the office of the Big Bad Bureau. A deluxe cover version has also been revealed, designed by Griffon Nichols.

Join the syndicate
Central to the new volume is the introduction of G.E.I.S.T. (Grand Evil Inciting Supervillainous Threats), a criminal organisation inspired by heist movies and classic Bond villains. Unlike the first book, which focused on plotting together against the players, Most Wanted offers a framework for players to actually join this rival faction and carry out their own dastardly schemes.
The supplement collects issues 26–50 of the original Big Bads zine series and introduces six entirely new bosses. Each entry includes comprehensive backstories, tactical guides, stat blocks, and “recruitment files” for DMs who want to integrate these threats into a larger campaign.
Brian Scott Walters, Art Director at Hit Point Press, explained in the press release,
We wanted to cram in as much mayhem and shenanigans into the one image to show the players they can take the fight back to the bureau. Josiah put so much detail into the big bads plotting together on the cover of the first book, and I’m so excited to share the dastardly fun time we’re having with the new one.”

Villainous character options
To support the shift toward playing as the antagonists, the book includes a “guide on how to be a villain” featuring tips from the book’s notorious bosses. Players will also find:
- New Backgrounds and Feats: Mechanical options tailored for characters with a more menacing bent.
- 30+ Magic Items and Minions: Equipment and henchpeople designed to complement the primary big bads.
- 90+ Adventure Hooks: A campaign framework to help Game Masters facilitate an overarching story of malice.
Jordan Richer, Content Lead for Hit Point Press, noted his excitement for the world to meet the new faction, stating that the criminal schemes of G.E.I.S.T. are designed to be easily brought into existing campaigns.
The project is currently live on Kickstarter for Zine Quest. Digital versions of Hit Point Press titles are also frequently available via DriveThruRPG.
