Titan Comics, the publisher closely associated with the physical comic book retail chain Forbidden Planet, has announced it will bring its catalogue to the new digital platform Neon Ichiban. The move is notable as it signals a significant digital embrace from a company with deep roots in traditional brick-and-mortar sales.

The publisher brings an extensive lineup of comics and graphic novels to the fledgling digital service. Readers will find licensed properties such as Doctor Who, Conan the Barbarian, and Blade Runner, alongside popular creator-owned series like Tank Girl and Lenore. Both the back catalogue and new same-day-as-print releases will be available on the platform.
This announcement follows quickly on the heels of Dynamite Entertainment joining Neon Ichiban, further cementing the platform as a serious contender in the digital comics space. Neon Ichiban was co-founded by Comixology veterans David Steinberger and Chip Mosher in 2025, positioning itself as a successor for fans seeking a premium digital reading and collecting experience. The platform includes features like a built-in secondary marketplace for reselling digital editions and the ability for creators to offer unique digital signatures and sketches, known as Remarques.
Will O’Mullane, Titan Comics’ Publicity Manager, commented on the partnership. In a statement, he said,
Partnering with Neon Ichiban gives us the opportunity to bring that spectrum of storytelling—from Conan to Tank Girl—to fans everywhere in a way that’s seamless, innovative, and built for the future of comics.”
The platform’s founders also welcomed the addition. David Steinberger, CEO of Neon Ichiban, stated,
We’re proud to welcome Titan to Neon Ichiban and give their incredible stories a new home where fans can read, collect, and connect like never before.”
Chief Creative Officer Chip Mosher added,
Having Titan’s catalog on Neon Ichiban means fans worldwide will be able to discover and collect their groundbreaking stories in a new platform.”
Titan Comics joins an impressive roster of launch publishers for Neon Ichiban, including Dark Horse, DC, DSTLRY, Dynamite, Kodansha, Marvel, Oni Press, and Vault Comics.
Each new publisher announcement, from major players like Marvel and DC to influential indies like Titan, significantly bolsters Neon Ichiban’s standing as a genuine Comixology alternative. Many long-time digital comic book readers have expressed frustration with the user experience on Comixology since its deeper integration with parent company Amazon. As Neon Ichiban’s catalogue expands, it presents an increasingly compelling and feature-rich choice for fans searching for a dedicated platform that prioritises the reading and collecting experience.
For a publisher like Titan, whose sister company is a major physical retailer, fully supporting a digital distribution and resale model suggests a forward-looking strategy that acknowledges the changing landscape of comic book consumption.
