Los Angeles-based design studio SmokyCreation has launched a Kickstarter campaign for the Cardyhedron Fold, a sleek magnetic tri-fold mechanical spinner dice. As of early March 2026, the project has already blown past its initial funding goal, raising over £95,000 from more than 2,700 backers.
SmokyCreation is no stranger to alternative tabletop accessories, having previously delivered successful campaigns for the original Cardyhedron, BattleAxe Dice, and Monolith D20. This latest iteration combines everyday portability with full tabletop functionality, offering a complete set of polyhedral dice (d4 to d20) that folds down to fit on a keychain.
Engineering a Flat Roll
The Cardyhedron Fold is constructed from zinc alloy, giving it a solid, premium weight and balance designed for durability. The device relies on a magnetic tri-fold design that securely holds the panels together to prevent accidental opening during transit.
Instead of rolling traditional polyhedrals, players spin integrated dials. Each spinner wheel utilises micro ball bearings to ensure a smooth and precise motion. To eliminate ambiguity, SmokyCreation has included a precision pointer and an assisted guide line; if the pointer lands near a divider, the result defaults to the number on the line side, guaranteeing there is never an unreadable roll.
Configurations and Carry
When fully folded, the device leaves the d6 and d20 spinners exposed and fully usable for quick checks without needing to unfold the entire unit. When laid flat, it reveals all six dials in a card-like layout that is easy to read at the gaming table.
The device is available in eight colours, including Charcoal Grey, Ember Orange, Forest Green, and Aurora Purple. While the standard layout mimics a standard polyhedral set, Kickstarter backers can exclusively opt for “All D6” or “All D10” configurations, which will not be available after the campaign ends. Every backer also receives a PU leather case and a strap with a metal keyring as a bonus.

- Pledge $29 (approx. £22): Cardyhedron Fold. One Cardyhedron Fold device, plus the leather strap, keyring, and leather case.
- Pledge $58 (approx. £44): 2x Cardyhedron Fold. Two Cardyhedron Fold devices, plus two sets of straps, keyrings, and cases.
- Pledge $87 (approx. £66): 3x Cardyhedron Fold. Three Cardyhedron Fold devices, plus three sets of straps, keyrings, and cases.
- Pledge $220 (approx. £165): Full Set – 8× Cardyhedron Fold. Eight Cardyhedron Fold devices, plus eight sets of straps, keyrings, and cases.
The project is all-or-nothing and will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Thursday, March 26th, 2026. Delivery is estimated for June 2026.
