Balls, estates, sly glances, and carriage accidents. Do you have the countenance to secure a fortuitous match, or will your reputation be ruined by scandal?
The Good Society Bundle has returned to Bundle of Holding. This offer presents the complete first edition of Storybrewers Roleplaying’s award-winning Jane Austen tabletop RPG. It is a timely revival; Storybrewers is currently preparing to launch a Kickstarter for the highly anticipated Second Edition of the game.
Good Society captures the heart-stopping longing and social machinations of Austen’s novels, as well as modern Regency dramas like Bridgerton. In this collaborative storytelling game, you create your own chapter of high society. You might be a wealthy heir falling for an aloof newcomer, or a charming socialite bent on destroying a rival. You must navigate family obligations and strict societal rules while using your influence, connections, and well-timed rumours to achieve your secret desires.
Society Collection – $17.95

For $17.95 (retail value $68), you receive the complete first-edition game line as DRM-free ebooks. Note: These titles are not available on DriveThruRPG and must be downloaded directly from your Bundle of Holding Wizard’s Cabinet.
- Good Society rulebook (Plus the Deck of Connections and the free holiday playset A Christmas Prince of Darkness)
- Expanded Acquaintance (Six alternative playsets, including magic, masked vigilantes, and downstairs servants)
- Love & Longing Deck (Nine short playsets and dozens of new desire and relationship cards)
By default, Good Society is set in the fictional town of Habershire between 1811 and 1818. The game is played in cycles, moving from “Novel Chapters” (in-character roleplaying) to phases dedicated to Reputation, Rumour and Scandal, and Epistolary interludes where players dictate the contents of their characters’ private letters.
The system relies heavily on print-and-cut cards to define Relationships and Connections. Players use Resolve tokens to forcefully shape the narrative and Monologue tokens to compel other players to reveal their characters’ innermost thoughts.
If you want to step outside strict historical fiction, the Expanded Acquaintance book offers brilliant alternate playsets. Pride, Prejudice, and Practical Magics introduces glamour and prophecies (in the vein of Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell), while Sense, Sensibility, and Swordsmanship gives characters secret vigilante personas like the Scarlet Pimpernel.
