I’ve still got Geek Native business cards with a Google+ logo on them. Sigh. Did only TTRPGers like G+? Caleb Engelke has an alternative use for business cards; the designer has printed a whole solo-RPG on them.
Korg is set in a world where people endlessly toil in fields and quarries, one soul treads a dangerous path in search of a mythical goal; retirement. You can see how attractive this goal is over on Kickstarter.
Caleb compares the game to Mork Borg’s Dark Fort and says in Korg, you seek gold so that you can improve your gear as you build up your financial resilience.##
You need the business card of an RPG, a d6 and pencil and paper to play. The gameplay is a condensed set of choices and rolls where you must either explore ruins to fight monsters for gold or go shopping for equipment instead.
The physical game will, at least, be printed in 0.3 plastic as a stretch goal has been unlocked.
I love TTRPGs and simply can’t get a group together every night of the week (in spite of my best efforts). To accommodate my addiction for dungeon delving and dice, I’ve forged a rules-light game that fits on a business card (yes really)!
There are traps, monsters, and a variety of equipment to advance your character! As long as you have a d6 and some scratch paper, you can play anywhere.
It was important to me to make sure Korg is the size of a business card so that I could store it in my wallet. I never know when I’ll be stuck somewhere with some time to burn and the itch to roll some dice.
Backers who contribute at least $6 will get a physical copy of the game, and Korg supports worldwide shipping.
Those who contribute $10 or more will get two copies, as three dozen people have done.
Need five copies? At the time of writing, that’s even more popular than getting two, and that reward unlocks at $15.
The established delivery on the project is February 2023.
