The official StokerVerse RPG is coming to Kickstarter and, if successful, will fund an S5S powered set in the aftermath of Bram Stoker’s Dracula universe.
Nightfall Games, the creators of S5S, have the license for the setting created by Dacre Stoker, Bram’s great grand-nephew, and by Chris McAuley. This week, Nightfall released the StokerVerse Roleplaying Game: Quickstart.
Available from DriveThruRPG, a 70-pages long, the quickstart isn’t free. It’s a Pay What You Want with a suggested price of $1. This follows Nightfall’s approach for their previous Kickstarter projects like SLA Industries and the official Terminator RPG.
Dracula is dead, of that we should be certain. The brave Texan, Quincey Morris, pierced his chest with a bowie knife. Morris paid with his life when he severed the great vampire’s ties to the mortal world. I can see by the puzzled look on your face that you may not be familiar with the full facts of this story. You may have read of a mysterious Romanian Count’s disappearance in the Strand or perhaps heard of the case of the Demeter? Pour yourself a stiff drink and I shall regale you with a tale which is as cold and dark as the crypt of Lord Blackwood in Highgate Cemetery.
The quickstart contains the Dracula’s Empire adventure. That’s eight scenes to show your gaming group what the StokerVerse is like to play in, or run.
The download also contains cut down rules, although they’ve been tailored to suit the StokerVerse RPG.
These modified rules include skill lists and descriptions, test rules, some combat rules, traits, equipment, and a look at the Occult World and its secrets in the setting.
Also included are some pre-generated characters. You’ll need the full core rules to create your own characters to explore this deadly world.
