As we type this without rhythm so as not to disturb the worm, on the day of the final trailer release for Dune: Part Three, let’s reflect on what an epic sci-fi trilogy Denis Villeneuve‘s Dune is turning out to be. It’s been a powerful, wild, emotional and epic water-conserving, worm-riding, spice-consuming jaunt through Frank Herbert’s original thought-out world.
Warner Bros dropped the fresh trailer today, and it’s packed full of new footage – including Timothée Chalamet as final-form, seemingly darker Paul Atreides (in the Dune Messiah part of the story), and Zendaya as quite a pissed off looking Chani.
They’re joined by an incredible cast lineup of Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh, Robert Pattinson, Rebecca Ferguson, Anya Taylor-Joy, Javier Bardem, and Josh Brolin to ensure the trilogy goes out with a bang. Because, wowzers, this trailer really makes it seem like it ain’t pulling any punches.
Dune Messiah, the book Dune: Part Three is based on, challenges the idea of Atreides as a hero figure by illuminating some of the terrible consequences of his growing power, and the religious following he attracts along the way. At one point in the trailer, Atreides even admits: “I have become the opressor.”

Due for release on 18th December, Dune: Part Three is going to go head-to-head with Avengers: Doomsday at the box office – so that’ll be interesting. Both highly anticipated movies, but I know which one I’ll be heading to IMAX for on opening weekend. How about you?
What will you be watching at IMAX on 18th December, and why is it Dune: Part Three? Share your thoughts below, but be wary not to disturb the worm – Geek Native servers aren’t quite built for that!
