Sucker Punch trailer: Alice in Wonderland with machine guns

Zack Synder (Watchmen, 300) described Sucker Punch as “Alice in Wonderland with machine guns”. I don’t think that’s fair; that seems to overlook the dragons and the samurai.

If it looks dark to you, well, yeah; the film tracks a young woman being dragged off into an asylum to be lobotomised. As you can see from the trailer – she makes every effort to scape. Did I mention it also has B-52 bombers?

Our hero is called “Babydoll” and played by Emily Browning, the rest of the cast and character names are pretty ace too; Abbie Cornish as “Sweat Pea”, Jamie Chung as “Amber”, Jena Malone as “Rocket”, Carla Gugino as “Rocket” and Vanessa Hudgens as “Blondie”.

As you might expect the film explores the blending of reality and imagination.
