Okay, we all know the isekai format by now. The hero travels from our world to another. Sometimes they die and reincarnate, and sometimes it’s a computer game.
In The Fruit of Evolution, it’s a magical fruit. Our chubby hero greedily eats a fruit he shouldn’t have. Then, in no lesson whatsoever about being careful what you eat while foraging, he returns to life as a heartthrob.
The catch? The angry pink gorilla also ate some of the fruit. She also comes back as a heartthrob.
One word sums up The Fruit of Evolution – My Unexpected Life as a Winner, and that’s “weird”.
And yes, the two heartthrobs become an item of sorts. She looks nothing like a gorilla anymore, but I suspect (just a guess) she continues to act like one.
The quirky anime is due to air in Japan this October and on a range of stations.
