Just how much coffee is needed to power the Death Star anyway?

The Death Star (through all incarnations) is a formidable and dangerous technology. It would be nothing without its crew, though. You need people in oddly pointy masks operating buttons near precarious handrails to use the machine.

Staff need coffee.

In a marketing move, any Star Wars fan should approve of Appliance City produced one of those towering infographics to study just how much coffee the Death Star’s crew would need. Even though the retailer generally sells dishwashers, not planet killers.

Still here? That was 2.4 million cups of coffee a day? That rivals my Monday morning intake.

Let’s hope, though, that 96 independent coffee shops were not blown up with the demise of the Death Star. That would be harsh.
