Robosen and Hasbro have unveiled their latest auto-transforming robotic collectible in the form of Transformers Grimlock – and it’s not only is it a thing of beauty, it’s also a masterpiece in terms of genius engineering!
The collectible – if you can call it that – is due to be released later in the year, and at a cool $1,699 (or $1,499 if you pre-order now from Robosen or Hasbro Pulse), it’ll make your savings go extinct!
Okay, so it’s not the first time Robosen and Hasbro have come for the wallets of ’80s Transformers fans; in 2021 they unleashed their $700 robotic Optimus Prime that could transform autonomously into the famous Freightliner truck.
Now, Grimlock is here to make things even more interesting – by transforming in nearly the exact same way as the original ‘80s toy! This, my friends, is sub-zero levels of cool – but you have to watch the video to fully appreciate it.
If, like me, you’re watching this and your mind is not only blown but completely boggled by how this is even possible, apparently it’s powered by “34 high-precision intelligent servos” and “an array of 85 microchips” which allow the autonomous transformation to take place in under 10 seconds!
I can’t get over how incredible this is to even watch. Imagine owning it! I… I kinda want to own this.
Apparently Grimlock can walk and turn in both modes thanks to his six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensor – which is how he keeps his balance. Dino mode, with tail assistance, provides extra balance, meaning our old friend Grimlock can walk much faster than in robot mode.
That’s not even all! In robot mode, Grimlock can wield two different weapons; a ‘Galaxial Rocket Launcher’ and an ‘Energon Sword’. Both have LED-powered light features, but Grimlock himself provides all the sound effects.
Like I mentioned above, this incredible Transformers Grimlock Auto-Converting Robot Flagship Collector’s Edition is available to pre-order NOW through both the Robosen and Hasbro Pulse websites for $1,499, but only until September 30th.
After that, it’ll cost you $1,699. Ouch!
Now, all that’s left for me to do is persuade Girdy we really need one of these to protect us from evil here at Geek Native Towers… it’s an INVESTMENT!!!
