Zine Quest is on, and Kickstarter is flooded with great RPG content. Geek Native tracked more than 700% the usual launches last week alone.
However, Eldermancy’s D&D 5e project has had no trouble getting noticed, and the book of premade taverns has well over 6,000 backers, more than $500,000 in pledges and still more than three weeks left on the campaign clock. You can check out the latest totals and join in on the project page.
Twisted Taverns is not Eldermancy’s first Kickstarter, the group’s first project Stibbles Codex of Companions also did very well, raising more than $340,000. That success will have generated an impressive Kickstarter email list for them.
There are more than just pre-written tavern locations in the guide as Eldermancy have also created characters, items and monsters associated with each location. There’s even new mechanics.
The first reward tier unlocks with a pledge of $25 which offers up a PDF copy of the book.
The next tier up, $55 (about £40), has three rewards; the PDF copy, the hardcover and a tavern map pack. At the time of writing, nearly 2,000 backers have gone for this level.
There are higher tiers. $85 adds the Seeker themed playing cards, dice, pin and a tavern quest board. This tier is also very popular, with well over 1,000 gamers finding the extra money to secure the merch.
The top tier, with over 750 backers, is worth $250 and includes a special edition leatherbound version of the book, a chibi, a card popup tavern kit, a stein and coasters as well as the items previously unlocked.
Estimated arrival times for all the tiers put the project in February 2022 for completion.
