Not the official live action Zelda trailer

March 4, 2015 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Made with help from the Player Piano team, directed by Clinton Jones and produced by Sarah Quillian, this is not the official trailer for the live action Zelda show. We believe Netflix is working on an official Legend of Zelda show. This fan-made one will give them a run for their money. In this version […]

On the Spot: Video game music

January 7, 2015 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Tune in for Halo, Skyrim, Final Fantasy 7, BioShock and Chrono Cross. This video is done to support Player Piano’s Indiegogo campaign (backer link) and follows on from their “on the spot” jammin’ to Nintendo themes. It works like this: Tom plays clips of music to talented composer and pianist Sonya Belousova. Sonya then tries […]

On the spot jammin’ to Nintendo themes

December 18, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood 1 Comment

To support their Indiegogo campaign the Player Piano team put composer and pianist Sonya Belousova on the spot. Sonya was played a little clip from a number of Nintendo theme tunes and had just a few seconds to compose her own piano take on the classic. She does very well.

Player Piano is responsible for one of my favourite YouTube creations of the year. They covered the Akira theme so well. Now they’ve given us a Tetris cover and asked for Indiegogo support. [Back this Campaign] This is a flexible funding so Player Piano don’t need to hit their target of $60,000 to cash in. […]

Player Piano conjure up the Ghost Waltz

October 31, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

I really enjoyed Player Piano’s take on the Akira theme. I watched the video more than once and urge you to do the same. Now they’re back with something spooky for Halloween. Fans should head over to Player Piano on Facebook and follow. The pianist is Sonya Belousova but I think there should be an […]

Akira’s theme with a classical twist and cosplay topping

July 8, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This is the first post on a YouTube channel called Player Piano. Got to say; it looks interesting. The channel is focused on Sonya Belousova, a piano player, and in this video she brings with her musical friends all cosplaying Akira. She also brings Eru Matsumoto who uses a neon bow for her electric cello […]
