As an early April Fool’s Google has released a version of Google Maps that is straight out of an 8-bit RPG adventure on the Nintendo. Just hit the quest button in the top right to access the adventure. As experienced 8-bit RPGers know it’s not always safe exploring the map. You may encounter monsters. Try […]
Shaun the Sheep 3D coming to the Nintendo 3DS
Don’t mock. I actually think this is a good idea. It’s a good way for the 3DS to showcase its 3D capabilities and its a good way to get some cash from the franchise for Aardman. I actually think the Vita has the most to benefit from with this sort of distrubution deal (sans 3D, […]
Orchestra recording The Legend of Zelda 25th anniversary special
I think there’s quite a lot of gaming music that reached iconic status. Many people recognise – even if they can’t name the come – Mario’s soundtrack, Sonic, Final Fantasy, dozens of 8-bit wonders as well as some of the new generation. BioShock, for example, is a game synonymus with its musical choices. Zelda’s such […]
Tasty looking, awesome, NES Cake
Debbie Goard is clearly, without question, a talented… gosh, what? She’s a talented artist? Designer? Baker? She sent this example (the cake or a picture, not sure!) to Geeks Are Sexy. Not only does this look good enough to eat – it looks good enough not to eat! At least it’s safe to share. Via […]
What you need to know: “Let’s talk iPhone”
Today, Apple hosted an event called “Let’s talk iPhone”. OMG! The iPhone 5 is coming! Wait, wait… I’m sure the iPhone 5 is coming but today’s announcement was about the iPhone 4S. Actually, today’s announcement was an easy introduction to Tim Cook – the new Apple CEO. He didn’t even get to introduce the iPhone […]
Game Boy swimsuit
This post had to happen. In one corner we have the Game Boy collection with the Gameboy dresses and the Nintendo bra. In the other corner we have the Black Milk collection of swimsuits that feature Pac-man, C3PO, R2-D2 and Vadar. The result? The Game Boy swimsuit. Okay; it’s just a prototype… I wonder if […]
The Gameboy dress collection
Haven’t you always wanted to be the centre of attention in a tight dress that looks like a Nintendo Gameboy? Etsy seller Here and There Vintage has a pair of of dresses that might give you cause for pause. What do you think? Red hot, geek chic or is this a critical miss? While you’re […]
8 bit Star Wars
Here’s a mash up that we should have seen coming. Take one dose of Star Wars. Take one dose of 8-bit era music. Mash. There result is Star Wars as it might have sounded if it was a Nintendo game. Hats off to Proof of Work who kept this up for more than 6 minutes. […]
Nintendo NES controller bra will be clean!
Etsy merchant SceeneShoes will have a success on their hands with this Nintendo branded item. See; I’ve gone and said “hands” already. It’s a Nintendo NES controller bra. I’m sure I dreamt about such a thing as a young teenager! Now, an interesting note appears on the seller page for this bra. It says; When […]
Will social games save the Wii U?
I don’t have a blu-ray player; I have a PlayStation 3. I don’t yet have a tablet. I wonder if in a year’s time I’ll be able to say; “I don’t have a tablet. I have a Wii U”? So far the Wii U has generated a lot of blog chat but it’s not impressed […]
