Halo Jetpack in Trafalgar Square

September 19, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Just as we were talking about Halo cosplay here in Geek Native towers this rather nice video of some Halo jetpack action presented itself to us. What it certainly shows is how far jetpack technology has progressed. It also shows us that some PR stunts are cool. What do you think? Would you charge or […]

Mega unboxing: Looking inside the Halo Reach Legendary Edition

September 15, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

The Halo Reach Legendary Edition arrived, on time, at the humble flat and Rainbow One took many pictures of the unboxing. It’s a very  large box. The controller game in a separate delivery! Not yet decided where/if we can put the models. They may need to be returned to the box. However, the initial impressions are “wow” […]

UNSC ManCave for Halo Reach

September 9, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

I don’t know if you’ve noticed but Microsoft are really pushing Halo Reach. I suspect it’s important to them that it’s successful and that the community accepts it. One fan – aka Donkiekong76 – is so hyped about Halo: Reach that he’s turned his basement into an UNSC ManCave for Halo Reach. He’s certainly pro […]

The battle begins: Halo Reach

July 29, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

We knew there would be a Bungie announcement today. Okay; so the big blogs have all been supplied with video content and there’s all sorts of expert coverage. Geek Native didn’t enjoy any of that. However, we can repost the latest Halo Reach trailer that’s now wide spread all over YouTube. Just incase you’ve not […]

Pete’s Elite costume – Halo cosplay goes awesome

July 4, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Some people have all the talent. Step forward Mr Pete Mander. This special effects guru has put together a fully functional Elite costume. The scale makes a lot more sense all of a sudden. Imagine come across one of these Elites in a real life Halo situation! Ouchie! I just have to throw in his […]

Extended Clip: Birth of a Spartan

May 1, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

The rather dramatic “Birth of a Spartan” trailer for Halo: Reach is doing the rounds at the blogs. There are two reasons for this; firstly, this is a good trailer and secondly, the ad agencies involved and Microsoft are sponsoring some coverage. This is not a sponsored video placement. Instead, this video comes from the […]

Halo Reach – Carnage Carnival – discussions on game balance

April 23, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Bungie has released a video called Carnage Carnival which features some of the team discussing the beta release of the game. A number of things are clear. First off; this is your typical “we’re very proud of our product” presentation. Bungie has every reason to be very proud of Halo and Halo Reach looks to […]

What’s in the Halo Reach Legendary Pack?

April 22, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Game.co.uk are now accepting pre-orders for the Halo Reach Legendary Pack. This gives us a chance to see what’s inside it. It’s also worth noting that there are three versions of the game; standard, limited and legendary. The pre-order at Game.co.uk for the Legendary Pack costs nearly £100 and (due to weight) doesn’t ship outside […]

Stunning: Robot artist creates Halo helmet

April 11, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This video of a Japanese machining robot is pretty. Well; to the right geeky sort of mind set anyway. I love the way it carves so easily through the metal. It looks like someone carving into light plastic or foam. The choice of sculpture is enough to make this video a must watch for any […]

Halo: Reach trailer

December 13, 2009 by Andrew Girdwood 2 Comments

Can you wait for Halo: Reach? I’m not sure I can. Halo is the only game that challenges Left 4 Dead for pure and simple, pick up and play, fun on Xbox Live. Halo: ODST was just a small fix to keep this Halo junkie alive while he waited for the real deal.
