May 11, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This T-Rex was created by Yue Shi in San Francisco as part of John Roloff’s Metal Fabrication Class. All the metal parts were cold formed by hand. The glow? That’s a cleverly placed heat lamp.

Cute, clever but anger prone robot dinosaur pet

April 29, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

As someone who shares a flat with a Pleo I’m interested in Boomer. This robot dinosaur looks to be rather quicker and a little more fierce. In particular, Boomer has an angry “chase” mode in which he goes after whoever annoyed it. The best way to annoy the little T-Rex bot? Pull his tail.

Dinosaurs and machine guns: Chronos Commandos – Dawn Patrol review

February 17, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

I wasn’t expecting much from Stuart Jennett’s Chronos Commandos: Dawn Patrol. The pitch worked for me – time travelling soldiers battle the Nazis in dinosaur infested swamps. What’s to go wrong with that? I could almost hear the editor in charge of commissioning catchy ideas click her fingers and say; “We’ll print it! Full colour!”. […]

An alien cowboy, riding a dino while shooting zombies

April 26, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

There’s plenty of zombie action on Geek Native but that doesn’t mean the blog’s stuck on repeat. There’s lots of scope in zombie. For example, there’s aliens and zombies or there’s dinosaurs and zombies. Heck, there’s even the alien cowboy on a dino shooting zombies. Thanks to Lorenz Hideyoshi Ruwwe we get to see what […]
