Poster: Sleep

May 30, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood 1 Comment

Arik Moonhawk Roper is an artist who’s worked for Warner Bros, Vice Magazine, Alternative Tentacle Records, Nickeloden and many others. That’s some serious client chops, right there. Arik tends to draw fantasy and horror and edges towards the surreal and sometimes psychedelic. His latest poster, Sleep, is currently for sale as a print for $50.

Nights at the Round Table trailer

May 30, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood 1 Comment

RedShirt Film’s latest web series looks like it might interest gamers. I pressed play on this by chance. An idle second when I had nothing better to do – click. It had my attention straight away and it was the joke on the t-shirt that did it. Yes, seen it many times before, I’m a […]

< Previous videoChronicles of DoomNext video >   Doctor Doom extends his snooping towards Iron Man. Does Tony Stark know anything that will aid the mad mystic in his quest for power? The Chronicles of Doom are a motion comic series written by Brian Michael Bendis to foreshadow Marvel Heroes. There are some hints at […]

Short film: Fighting Spirits

May 30, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Can a ballet be sci-fi? I suppose it can – if, like Fighting Spirits, it is set in the distant future. This animation is already a year old. At the time of its release Gene Kim, the creator, noted that he had been working on it for a whole year before Black Swan came out […]

The Memories of Phantasm is the second anime to come out of the dojin game Touhou Project. Touhou Project is a shooter developed by ZUN. That’s all we know about her or him. A dojin game is a fan made project and ZUN is responsible for all the graphics, programming and music, well, pretty much. […]

Animazement 2013 cosplay video

May 29, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Beat Down Boogie has a longer than average cosplay video from Animazement 2013. In many ways; it’s three cosplay videos in one. As it happens Animazement is pretty strict about the camera policy and as a result Beat Down Boogie; Micah, Rick, Blake, Matthew and Brian, filmed a lot outside on the Saturday. There’s a […]

Skeleton battle wedding cake

May 29, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This isn’t a scene from D&D Next. This is a wedding cake. Created by Mike’s Amazing Cakes is geek grub that could only have been ordered by +5 geeks. I call roleplayers. I also tip my hat to an incredible wedding cake idea.

A Game of Drones

May 29, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Okay, call it A Game of StarCraft if you want – as creator Tolkfan does. I accept that puts both origins in the name but I mourn the loss of the thrones/drones rhyme. I’m sure quite a lot of RTS gamers watched the title sequence to a Game of Thrones, as the buildings rose from […]
