The German site Herr-Der-Ringe (is there a joke in the name) has managed to get hold of some photographs from the in-production The Hobbit movie. Quite clearly they show the production and construction of Bilbo Baggin’s The Shire. I know its early days yet and everything could change but I think these look spot on. […]

The World of Warcraft documentary
Gavin Kelly of Piranha Bar has directed a rather clever short film called “Avatar Days”. Amazingly, it was filmed and produced in just four days. In fact, it was made to take part in the “4 day Film” category in the Darklight Film Festival. You know; I tried to buy the fomain name darklight.com back […]
More pictures from the Left 4 Dead fan movie
We’re getting to see some impressive fan made movies. There’s Project London and The Lord of the Rings Born of Hope movie for example, there’s also a fan made movie for Call of Duty and Left 4 Dead. The Left 4 Dead team are doing a good job at making sure there’s a steady trickle […]
Mortal Kombat: Rebirth
So the director behind the Fame remake decided to do a short Mortal Kombat film as a proof-of-concept. He got Michael Jai White (Spawn, The Dark Knight) and Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine) to appear in it.
Impressive new TV slot for Avatar: The Last Airbender
I just can’t wait until The Last Airbender makes it over here from the States to the UK (I wonder how long it would take Appa to fly that distance?) There are a few new TV slots for the movie airing on US TV in the next little while. The most recent of which has […]
Will there be an Alan Wake film? What’s up with Alan Wake Live?
Remedy Games has a few people scratching their heads today. The game company behind Alan Wake put a rather interesting video up on YouTube. It’s called “Alan Wake Live” and shows a (very short) live action clip. So, what does this mean? Are we getting an Alan Wake movie? Or perhaps just a short film? […]
Warhammer 40K movie: Ultramarines teaser
This isn’t so much a trailer for the Warhammer 40K movie Ultramarines as it is a teaser. We get some special effects. We get to see what an Ultramarine might look like. Most of all we get John Hurt sounding awesome and talking about space marines. I can’t imagine a Warhammer 40K fan who’s not […]
The second Scott Pilgrim Vs The World trailer is as awesome as you’ve been told it is!
Scott Pilgrim is unique – it’s the first RomCom I simply can’t wait to see! Normally RomComs simply make me barf. I hope the trailer isn’t stealing all the best bits from the movie though. “What are you doing?” Scott’s asked as he reaches for a 1up floating in the air beside him, “Getting a […]
Syfy’s Periodic Table of The Empire Strikes Back
Hard to believe that The Empire Strikes Back is 30. It is! 30! That’s older than many of the people visiting this blog. Over on SciFi Wire they’ve posted some clever linkbait. Periodic Tables seem to be all the rage – and with this one we’ve got the Periodic Table of The Empire Strike Back. […]
A quick introduction to Iron Sky – Space Nazis
It’s been a long wait for Iron Sky – and there’s a lot more waiting to do. The first trailer now has over 1,000,000 views on YouTube and the second, published on the 13th of May, has over 300,000 at the time of posting. The concept is simple. The Nazis have been hiding on the […]
