Hank Azaria as Gargamel in The Smurfs – pictures. Smurf!

April 30, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

The good folk at ComingSoon have a small stack of pictures as the smurf hunting Gargamel. Doesn’t he special effect up well? Not sure I would have guessed it was the Blue Raja unless I knew who the actor was. Chances are high that I’ll be watching this film.

Jonah Hex trailer – featuring Fringe’s Agent Broyles

April 30, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Jonah Hex is a scarred but far from defeated bounty hunter. Having survived death (or perhaps survived life) he seems to straddle both worlds. This trailer makes me want to see the film. Hex is a charismatic hero that flirts with the anti-hero role. Megan Fox fits well as Lila, the brothel whore who seems […]

This is what Thor looks like

April 30, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Paramount have made available an official hot of Chris Hemsworth as Thor, the God of Thunder. We noticed this over at Bleeding Cool where Alasdair Stuart points out how un-Chris Hemsworthy actor Chris Hemsworthy looks. Bingo. Also bingo – double bingo – is Alsadair’s comment that Hemsworth Thor looks regal, superhuman and yet fragile and […]

Idris Elba Deserves To Be An Asgardian!

April 30, 2010 by Paul Leave a Comment

Apparently there are people out there who don’t think Idris Elba (Ultraviolet, The Wire) should be playing the Norse God Heimdall in Kenneth Brannagh’s adaptation of Marvel Comic’s Thor.

Is this the head of a new Ninja Turtle?

April 28, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

There should be a reboot of Teenage Ninja Turtles coming (the cartoon was known as Teenage Hero Turtles in the UK after some mad parent campaign). We know this. We don’t know what the “new” turtles will look like. The Latino Review has a possible first look at one. This photo was sent in by […]

Yes, that’s right. This week I’m busy in a series of events in London – and so welcome to the second of my pre-prepared Lego series. Today, on schedule, we’ve the lego movie clip for Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Yup; it’s the Camelot scene. Yup; it’s so worth watching again!

Lego movies: Jaws

April 27, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Welcome to the first in Geek Native’s Lego series. We kick off with Lego Jaws but don’t forget we’ve a proud history of Lego coverage – this Lego Matrix clip, for example. I think these guys do especially well with the water effects.

The third trailer for The Last Airbender looks impressive

April 24, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

I think this trailer really begins to show what a visual treat The Last Airbender is going to be. Unlike many, I’m still a fan of M. Night Shyamalan too and although I think the casting debates/decisions are interesting I don’t think they condemn the movie in anyway. The first video is the latest trailer.
