Say the name “Foglio” to me and I think Girl Genius, but both have worked on far more than that, including Magic: The Gathering.
Now, in conjunction with Original Magic Art there’s a Kickstarter to take their art and turn it into a set of limited edition playmats. The campaign asks for $14,652 and, with 7 days to go at the time of writing, has smashed that goal with more than $85,000 pledged. You can monitor progress at the campaign page.
Each of the playmats are limited in number insofar as they’ll be printed again with a stitched edge. The stitched edges that these mats are getting are a new offering from UltraPro, and the promise is of premium quality.
Each mat will be hand signed by Phil and Kaja, and there won’t be dominant logos everywhere, but both UltraPro and Wizards of the Coast do have a logo presence.
A pledge of $40 gets you one of the 12″ by 16″ prints as a playmat or giclee print. $80 will get you a 12″ x 20″ one. There are discounts for buying more than one.
