Oh gosh, where does “All I Want for Christmas Is You” come from? Is it a geeky and historical poem that dates back to pagan days?

No.

We’re talking 1994 and Mariah Carey.

It didn’t make number one. The single peaked at position six in the Billboard Hot Adult Contemporary.

Here in the UK it did better. It hit position 5.

What do we learn from the song? Dice are evil. Goblins can’t be trusted. That friendly NPC is actually out to get you. Buying the DM more goodies actually results in tougher encounters. Abandon all hope.

It’s a great Christmasy song.
