A year ago, a plea went out from Geek Native to new DMs who had just discovered one of Dungeons & Dragons’ iconic monsters; the Mimic. Despite the apparent lure, despite the temptation, Mimics do not always have to pretend to be chests or doors.
The blog post contained more than 30 alternative suggestions for what a Mimic could pretend to be. That’s a long list but it didn’t get close to Reddit user’s mmsprink’s crafting skills. Sprink came up with the most awesome and scary Mimic of them all… the dice box Mimic!!
Sprink also runs an Instagram account under the name @Chaos_Traveler. Pop over to Instagram, and you can find some works in progress photographs of the clever dice box Mimic coming to life, dog mom pictures and D&D snaps.
