Flashback is an attractive looking RPG from Australia and is uses the now tried and tested TV story mechanic of ‘flashbacks’ to enhance characters’ skills and knowledge.
The game is hoping to raise AU$8,000, and they might do it despite the challenges of starting a project anywhere outside of the US. They still have, at the time of writing, 15 days left and only need $3,000. You can follow progress on Kickstarter.
The game is a fantasy steampunk one, and the Kickstarter page tells us quite a bit about the setting.
It takes a pledge of AU$40 (about £22) to get the core Flashback rules in PDF, with character and item sheets and any digital stretch goals that unlock.
Step up to AU$55 for the basic hardback and AU$80 for the deluxe. The latter includes all the Titan encounter maps and 80-page adventure journal and notebook.
The Flashback system uses stamina and a d10 to power all roles. There are 12 personality traits all characters have, and they’re based on real-world psychological models. They are;
