I ran GameWyrd for years. It started, oh, I think back in 2000 and began to fade in 2004 when real-life work became so busy. GameWyrd now lives on as a section within GeekNative.
GameWyrd was a labour of love. Even as the site decayed into a spammy mess, I could not bring myself to kill it. The solution? A new site. A blog! Something similar but different. Something that could cope with my hectic schedule – something appropriate for a geek native.
With Geek Native’s launch, I began the slow process of transferring, 301 redirecting, some of GameWyrd’s content to the new site. I couldn’t move everything. A lot of the custom games, for example, would need to be re-coded from scratch. The interactive stories couldn’t simply but cut’n’paste across.
This page on Geek Native is the GameWyrd Graveyard. If you’re on this page, then it’s because you followed a link to a set of content that’s been ‘retired’ in the site migration. It’s gone.
Are you an old Wyrdling? Love to hear from you; leave a comment or follow the new site on Twitter as @GeekNative.
Hey, Andrew. Glad to see you're still alive. I was getting worried by the increasing inactivity at Gamewyrd over the years. I've been an on and off visitor for many years, and I have left my mark at the top of the Highest Rated posts for Famous Last Words. I'm still proud I have not been toppled. I'll definitely be looking around Geek Native for more ways to leave my mark. Thanks for all the great content

Woot. Really pleased to see you here – wasn't sure there were any loyal Wyrdlings left at all (and with good reason; the site had been in entropy for years).
Also glad you're on Disqus as I guess that's the new, implicit, system for connecting Geek Native readers/members and showing your standing in the community through the poiint system.
Hey is this RPG Group based in Scotland???
Hiya,
I'm in Scotland… but this isn't a gaming group :) Sorry.
Bored at work I though I would see if I could dig up the old gamewyrd forum posts. I am sorry to have seen it go, as I spend a huge amount of time posting on the forums back when I was younger. Ill have to go rummaging through the grave yard and then have a look at the new site. Thanks for all the good times of old, and heres hoping to good times of new.
Good to see another Wyrdling find Geek Native. I really couldn’t keep GameWyrd alive – especially the forums. The site was as much a coding project as it was a site to share RPG interests and the forums had been hand-coded from scratch. The result? Open season for spammers!
I see Geek Native more as the saviour than usurper as it very much allows GameWyrd to continue in spirit. There’s still the GameWyrd archive and “new-old” projects like Famous Last Words Friday that you might find familiar.
