We know Valve is serious about hardware but we don’t yet have a Steambox. Today, though, we certainly narrow the gap.
Valve has announced “Steam’s Big Picture”. Start with a dedicated PC (and, yup, many gamers have something spare… I may have a laptop or two tucked away), one HDMI cable and you’re ready to plug in Steam. The experience includes a web browser and is designed to work on control pads. Which controllers does Steam’s Big Picture support? Xbox 360 controllers or the Logitech Wirelesss Gamepad F710. You can use keyboard and mouse if you want, though.

Who’s tempted to go find a spare machine, cable and check out some console games on their big screen?
