Ursula Le Guin talks about Earthsea

This is a charming video from Simon and Schuster that features the famous author Ursula Le Guin talking about her Earthsea YA series.

Ursula began by drawing the maps for the islands featured in Earthsea and it was this map that she used throughout the series. I’m sure many GMs take a similar approach to their world creation too. Although, Earthsea sprung from a short story or two Le Guin had already penned.

Its also lovely to hear how some young readers used the Earthsea series to help them deal with life issues and choices of their own. You can see that Le Guin seems touched by this revelation as well.
