The strange chitter of Nyarlaothtop – Naiyoru! Nyaruko-san trailer

It’s always a challenge working out which anime trailers to share on Geek Native. I assume that most readers, like this blogger, don’t speak Japanese.

It’s also tempting to post this video without explanation. I think the explanation is what makes the video surreal and funny though!

In the anime Naiyoru! Nyaruko-san the thing that appears as a grey haired school girl called Nyaruko is actually an “outer-god” called Nyarlathotep – a formless deity from chaos. This may sound familiar now. Mahiro Yasaka is a normal school boy who is unluky enough to be chased by aliens but ‘lucky’ enough to have Nyarlathotep / Naiyoru step in to help.

That’s right; H.P. Lovecraft as a school girl anime series. Keep that in mind as we watch a few seconds from the trailer and listen to the voice actresses responsible for the Nyarlaothtop and pals.
