Pelgrane Press has partnered with UK charity gaming club The Role Play Haven to host an investigative horror one-shot night at its Liverpool branch on Tuesday 27 October 2026. Player sign-ups open on Wednesday 21 October, with free table entry for first-time attendees, plus demo games, adventure materials, and prize support.

The collaboration marks a clear public vote of confidence in The Role Play Haven after founders Garry Harper and David Coulter left earlier this year. As the community interest company transitions under new management, direct backing from an established British tabletop publisher provides practical stability and community goodwill at the branch level.
Pelgrane will showcase five flagship titles built on the investigative GUMSHOE rules and related systems:
- Trail of Cthulhu: Cosmic horror investigation set against 1930s dread.
- Night’s Black Agents: High-stakes modern espionage pitted against an international vampire conspiracy.
- The Yellow King: Multi-era surreal horror confronting reality-bending madness.
- Swords of the Serpentine: High-action urban fantasy, political corruption, and sorcery.
- Fear Itself: Contemporary horror tracking ordinary civilians caught in monster encounters.
The Liverpool team will also run volunteer-led Halloween games to expand capacity. While Role Play Haven typically requires paid session tokens or annual membership to fund its regional venues and charity donations, newcomers can join their initial table for free.
The event gives tabletop roleplaying games an in-person, curated platform in Merseyside outside the standard London convention circuit. For Pelgrane, putting books directly into community spaces connects local players with indie investigative systems often overshadowed by commercial fantasy giants.
Organisers will publish table rosters and game registration on the Role Play Haven Liverpool branch hub on 21 October. Players can view the full publisher catalogue directly at Pelgrane Press or browse digital rulebooks via DriveThruRPG.
