Uniqlo launched the KAWS UNIVERSE collection today, September 17, 2026, both online and in physical stores. The release introduces new characters inspired by the Earth, Moon, and Sun, standing alongside the iconic COMPANION figure by artist Brian Donnelly, known professionally as KAWS. The range features t-shirts, sweatshirts, and bag charms for adults and children, with prices ranging from £9.90 to £29.90.
Donnelly has a history of triggering intense consumer demand, most notably causing physical stampedes during his 2019 Uniqlo collaboration. The launch brings collectible culture directly to the high street, and Uniqlo’s flagship Scottish store on Princes Street in Edinburgh, where Geek Native is headquartered, will may already have morning queues as fans attempt to secure the limited items.
Despite the anticipated rush from collectors and automated purchasing bots, Uniqlo’s launch announcement omits any details regarding purchase limits. The £19.90 bag charms are expected to be primary targets for scalpers, which may leave regular shoppers empty-handed shortly after the release goes live.
Tucked at the bottom of the KAWS announcement, Uniqlo also quietly released new additions to its Peace for All charity initiative. The new £19.90 t-shirts feature designs by Japanese architects Kengo Kuma and Sou Fujimoto. Bundling this philanthropic effort beneath plush accessories downplays what is a high-profile design collaboration for a charitable cause.
Brian Donnelly, artist and creator of KAWS, said in a statement, “I’m excited to launch my next UNIQLO collection, featuring new characters inspired by the Earth, Moon and Sun—three things we all live under and share, celebrating what unites us.”
