Andy Lever of Lost Haven has brought Skies Above to Tabletop Scotland 2026, marking the game’s official convention debut at booth S-02 with physical accessories and news of an unannounced setting expansion.

Speaking directly to Geek Native on the convention floor at the Royal Highland Centre, Lost Haven confirmed that the first expansion supplement for Skies Above is officially in development. The upcoming release will serve as an in-depth sourcebook for the setting, focused on one of its Sky Realms, expanding the lore, geography, and adventuring potential of the floating archipelago.
The appearance at Tabletop Scotland also marks the first time that physical production copies of the Skies Above GM screen, ability cards, and condition decks have been available in the wild. While previously restricted to online previews and digital store pre-orders via Ko-fi, attendees visiting booth S-02 this weekend can inspect the physical goodies directly from the creator.
Mechanically, Skies Above steps away from conventional d20 systems, opting for a dice engine powered by eight-sided dice (d8s). Built specifically for parties of three to five players alongside a game master (termed the Chronicler), the rules favour tactical synergy, bespoke job roles, and collaborative world building over mechanical bloat.
Stylistically, the game acts as an explicit homage to the golden age of Japanese console roleplaying games, drawing direct inspiration from classic Super Nintendo and PlayStation-era titles including Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Secret of Mana.
Where Skies Above diverges from standard tabletop fantasy is its treatment of the post-apocalyptic genre. Rather than defaulting to scorched wastelands, barren mud, or bleak survivalism, the setting presents a high-altitude world that has regenerated. The world is verdant, growing, and full of life, where ancient, half-understood technologies sit alongside floating islands and ambient magical currents.
Attendees at Tabletop Scotland can find Lost Haven at stand S-02 throughout the remainder of the weekend to see the physical accessories and pick up copies of the core game.
