It’s still the Edinburgh Festival season, and on our sister site Edinburgh Reviews we’re pushing 100 reviews. Not much to do with tabletop gaming, but everything about independent media and indie creators in the same pond as huge media conglomerates.

Speaking of our home city, Critical Role was here recently, and now their entire 4-hour gig is free to watch on YouTube.
Here’s the latest RPG news summaries of the summaries are;
- Games for Scholarships is live.
- Roll20’s Quantum Dice are available for everybody.
- There’s still no hard date for Warhammer FRPG 5 (but soon).
- The Thundercats TTRPG is on its way to backers.
There was a time when Twitter was great because so many people were on it. You could attend a gaming convention or, as has been on my mind recently, Edinburgh for the festival season and ask for tips and advice. Strangers in the same place, with the same interests, would notice and respond. Now we have lots of social networks.
Where is Geek Native? We’re trying to be everywhere, but we also don’t want to spam people with thoughts and comments, so we work hard to restrict our output to just the headlines. And we have Discord for chat. That said, the X-alternative that seems to be getting the most traction is BlueSky, and there’s a growing TTRPG community there.
Google has merged the two threads of ‘supporting publishers’ and ‘content discovery’ with a new update to preferred sources. So, let’s check it out. The button above is free to use and teaches the algorithm that indie sites like Geek Native have readers.
