Crunchyroll has announced a global watch party for Trigun Stampede to precede the premiere of the sequel series, Trigun Stargaze. The streaming platform will host a catch-up event on YouTube starting in January 2026, offering fans a chance to binge the previous season before the new narrative begins.
On Tuesday, 6th January at 18:00 GMT, Crunchyroll’s YouTube channel will stream all 12 episodes of Trigun Stampede. This event is timed to lead directly into the broadcast debut of Trigun Stargaze, which is scheduled to premiere on the platform on Saturday, 10th January 2026.

The watch party will not solely consist of episodes. Following the marathon, the stream will feature an exclusive interview with Yasuhiro Nightow, the original creator of the Trigun manga. Nightow is expected to discuss the legacy of the franchise and provide insights into the upcoming Stargaze arc on Crunchyroll’s The Anime Effect Podcast.
A public link for the event will go live on Saturday, 3rd January, initiating a countdown. The full stream, including the episodes and interview, will remain available on YouTube until 13th January at 18:00 GMT.
The Return of the Human Typhoon
Trigun Stargaze picks up two and a half years after the events of the “Lost JuLai” tragedy depicted in Stampede. The narrative finds the protagonist, Vash the Stampede, living in hiding under the alias “Eriks” in a remote town. The official synopsis suggests a conflict driven by the return of Vash’s brother, Millions Knives, and a collision of fates that will “forge a final conclusion for the panicked planet”.
Production continues under Studio Orange, the animation studio known for Beastars and Land of the Lustrous. The studio’s use of 3D CGI was a significant talking point during the initial airing of Stampede, marking a visual departure from the traditional cel animation of the 1998 Madhouse adaptation.
Kenji Muto returns to direct Stampede, while Stargaze will be directed by Masako Sato, known for her work on Haikyu!! To The Top. Kouji Tajima once again provides character designs and concept art.
For those looking to explore the source material before the new anime airs, the original Trigun and Trigun Maximum manga are available from retailers such as Amazon. Collectors of physical media can also check Zavvi for home video releases of the franchise.
In a press statement, the production outlined the stakes for the new season:
It has been two and a half years since the Lost JuLai tragedy and the hunt for Vash the Stampede with a $$60,000,000,000 bounty rages on! … Fates collide to forge a final conclusion for the panicked planet.”
The anime will be accessible across territories via Crunchyroll’s streaming service.
