Bomb scare at L.A. Anime Expo

Saturday was an interesting day for the anime expo crowd, well, at least the early birds who got there before lunch.

The LAPD bomb squad made an appearance. This was very much an on duty appearance as a “suspicious crate” had been discovered in the South Hall lobby area of the LA Convention Center. Apparently the presence of a jug of water and a brown paper bag were extra suspicious.

The incident lasted less than an hour and was over it was discovered the crate belonged to a homeless person.

Having reviewed some of the early photos from the event this blogger is tempted to speculate that a certain whacky criminal two might have staged the whole stunt in an attempt to lure out Batman. We’ll see. A full Storify summary is planned for later.
