WizKids brings HeroClix online [pictures]

HeroClix is coming to the online world and the paid beta program opens today.

WizKids teamed ip with Icarus Studios to create a game in which players take part in matches and tournaments on a virtual 3D tabletop. The paid beta makes use of HeroClix sets like “Hammer of Thor” and the “Fantastic Four starting set”.

Justin Ziran of NECA/ National Entertainment Collectibles Association/WizKids said;

“Many of our most loyal players are unable to get to the store to play for one reason or another, but still want to play the game they’ve come to know and enjoy on a platform that fits their lifestyle,”

“Our ultimate goal is to re-engage players that don’t play in stores any longer and cross pollenate the online world and in-store world via achievements and our event locator.”
