Dr. James Porter works for the Swedish Seattle hospital where he specialises in robotic surgery. The robot is called da Vinci.
In order to demonstrate their combined skill set Porter and da Vinci work on a tiny sheet of paper to fold – and throw – a tiny paper airplane. It’s about the size of an one cent coin.
I’m not sure how re-assured I am. I always understood the benefits of robotic tools in surgery. In this demo the paper airplane escapes at least once and bounces out of shot!
